After installation of the deep pier, Avalon fills the pier with rebar and grout for additional strength and corrosion protection. After lifting the foundation, Avalon places and vibrates concrete at each pier location, encasing the lifting bracket and filling the gap under the foundation. This process is superior to backfilling with soils as it provides (1) corrosion protection, (2) seismic stability, and (3) restores ground contact for redundancy and lateral strength.

In this example of underpinning a hillside foundation, Avalon lifted the foundation with resistive piers, then installed helical tiebacks with rebar and concrete to keep the house on top of the hill.
