Helical piles are the perfect foundation for portable or temporary buildings as they provide a far superior anchorage to the ground than the spikes normally used, and because they can be removed when the building is moved. In the picture below, Avalon has installed a portable classroom to accommodate expansion of the Aptos Academy, a private school.

The portable unit was later welded to the helical piers for seismic anchorage. Additionally, C-channels were added to strengthen the frame of the portable.

Ground screws can be the perfect tool to support light loads like solar arrays.
Like helical piles and other steel members which are typically not grouted, they can also be easily removed and reinstalled elsewhere.

Avalon builds bridge abutments, usually using helical piers. In this photo, the abutments contain vertical helical piers and diagonal helical tiebacks.
