Avalon provided a very cost-effective solution to these troublesome and soils with 5 1/2 inch helical piles installed with our excavator. Here the 5 1/2 inch helical piles are being installed deep into the earth, past the liquefaction zone, and to the engineered capacity. Avalon worked in consultation with the helical pile designer, Magnum Piering, to determine the optimum pile type and configuration, all of which had to be duly derated to account for the unbraced column passing through the liquefiable layer. Ready for rebar and concrete.
